Today, his daughter, Dr. Emily Daniel, proudly carries that legacy forward, guiding the practice into its next chapter while preserving the personal connections and family-centered values that have defined this practice for generations.

Dr. Emily Daniel is proud to care for the community she calls home. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from NC State University, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2022.
Dr. Emily believes exceptional dentistry begins with listening. Whether caring for a child’s first smile, helping an anxious patient feel at ease, or creating a plan for a more confident smile, she strives to make every patient feel heard, comfortable, and cared for. She combines a gentle, personalized approach with a passion for comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry, modern techniques, and continuing education.
As part of a family-owned practice, Dr. Emily values the relationships built over time and feels fortunate to care for patients and families across generations. Her goal is to create a welcoming dental home where every patient feels valued and confident in their care.
Outside the office, Dr. Emily enjoys traveling, staying active, listening to music, and spending time with her husband, Lawson Batten, who is also a dentist. Together, they love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures—adventures that continue to deepen her appreciation for the unique stories and perspectives each person brings.

Four generations of family dentistry
For nearly four decades, Dr. Daniel has been honored to care for the Goldsboro community he calls home. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from East Carolina University, he graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry in 1986 and soon began building a practice grounded in trust, compassion, and lasting relationships.
Known for his easygoing nature, gentle manner, and genuine interest in others, Dr. Daniel believes the best dentistry begins with making people feel comfortable and cared for. Whether sharing a laugh, remembering a family story, or helping a patient achieve a healthier, more confident smile, he treats everyone who walks through his doors like family. He has a special interest in comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry and takes pride in providing thoughtful, personalized care.
Over the years, one of Dr. Daniel’s greatest privileges has been caring for generations of the same families and watching his community grow. Today, he continues to practice alongside his daughter, Dr. Emily Daniel, who now leads the family-owned practice into its next chapter. Sharing his passion for dentistry with Emily is especially meaningful, allowing him to continue caring for his longtime patients while helping preserve the values on which Daniels Dental was built.
Outside the office, Dr. Daniel treasures time with his wife, Connie, their three children, and his grandchildren. He enjoys fishing on the Pamlico River with his son, Will, spending time with family, and, of course, talking about his dogs.
After nearly 40 years, Dr. Daniel remains grateful for the patients who have become friends and the community that has shaped his career. For him, dentistry has always been about more than smiles—it’s about the people behind them.
